CLEMENS KLARMANN · PSYCHOLOGIST & COACH
I have always been interested in what holds things together.
At first it was physics, language and technology. Later organizations and leadership. Today I am most interested in the people within them.
The subject changed over time. The curiosity behind it stayed the same.
The question stayed with me.
From early on, systems fascinated me. How individual parts interact. Which rules shape them. What changes when you move one thing.
Physics shaped my eye for structures and relationships. German studies shaped my sense for language, meaning and perspective. Computers and programming were part of my life from an early age.
Very different worlds. To me, they always shared one thing: the search for connections.
On paper, organizations are boxes and lines. In everyday life, they are people.
In research at Fraunhofer and later inside companies, my interest in systems became lived reality: leadership, change, competing priorities, collaboration and decisions.
For many years, I have carried responsibility inside organizations myself. I have seen how different the same situation can look depending on where you stand.
A decision can make economic sense and still weigh on someone. A role can look clear on paper and feel completely different in practice. A conflict can feel personal and at the same time have a great deal to do with the organization around it.
At some point, the person within the system became the most interesting question.
I became increasingly interested in what happens inside people when expectations collide, relationships become difficult or a role asks for something that feels at odds with what matters to them.
That curiosity became more than an interest. I studied psychology through master's level and today provide outpatient psychotherapy while working towards German licensure (Approbation) in systemic therapy.
The systemic perspective fits a question that has stayed with me for a long time: what is interacting here?
Personal experience. Relationships. Expectations. Roles. Structures. A situation often becomes clearer once several of these levels are visible.
I listen closely. And I say what I notice.
For me, a good conversation grows from genuine interest, clarity and a willingness to look more closely.
I ask questions. I offer perspectives. I name things that may be uncomfortable. Always with the aim of understanding more clearly what is happening.
Your view remains central. You know your life, your relationships and your situation better than I do.
My job is to help you look more closely.
